I got bitten by the tennis bug in the summer of 1974. I have been addicted to the game ever since. I spent the next several years taking lessons and hitting with players who were better than me. I would hit tennis balls every chance I got. If I couldn't find a hitting partner I would hit off a wall at a local elementary school. I have been playing local tennis tournaments since the days of the South Park tournamnents with their draws of over 400 players! Today I am a 4.0 to 4.5 player. I am still incorporating new training and techniques into my game. I believe that as a player, one can continually improve certain aspects of ones game.
I presently serve as the Tournament Director of the Dick's Sporting Goods USTA Pro Circuit Men's Futures of Pittsburgh as well as the Intercollegiate Tennis Association SUmmer Circuit event known as the "National Collegiate Clay Court Championships" These events are held concurrently the first week of July at the Mount Lebanon Tennis Center.
I became a USPTA Certified Professional to share my knowledge and love of the game with anyone who is interested in improving their understanding and enjoyment of tennis.
